ISLAND BIRDS
In October, birds such as Currawongs, Crows, Thick Kneed Curlew, Rainbow Lorikeets, Pheasant Coucal, and Kookaburras begin to nest and become quite active.
If you are to hear good-natured laughter among the trees, it may simply be the Kookaburra’s unmistakable call. And if you are looking for love, look no further than the rainbow lorikeet that often travels in pairs and can easily be seen due to its brilliant bright feathers.
Little Red Flying Foxes are also very active during this time whilst the Blue and Poplar Gums are in full flower.
