PROSERPINE ROCK WALLABY

At this time of year, Proserpine Rock Wallabies escape the heat and retreat to Hayman’s cooler rocky outcrops and stunning cliffs.

Introduced to Hayman as part of an endangered species breeding program in the last decade, the endangered Proserpine Rock Wallaby has a subdued colour allowing it to blend into its natural environment.

After critical review, Hayman was chosen a suitable site for this particular wallaby species due to its rocky terrain, which acts as protection from predators.

The Proserpine Rock Wallaby tends to stay away from the resort grounds, however for the adventurous types who wish to explore the island’s natural beauty, you will probably spot them hopping around the bushland.
