Hayman Introduces Innovative healthy and Indulgent Dining ExperiencesSeptember 21, 2010
Hayman, Australasia’s premier luxury nature resort destination on the Great Barrier Reef, has introduced new specially designed health and wellness menus and an increased variety of dining indulgences for guests staying in this tropical paradise.
The new menus reflect the growing requests for healthier menu options for guests, whilst still being able to enjoy an array of delectable temptations.
Throughout the resort’s acclaimed restaurants, in specially located island settings and for guests heading out on Reef adventures, some of the healthier options being focused on are dishes inspired by a selection of raw vegetables with fresh juice infusions also making an entry.
Hayman General Manager, Shane Green acknowledged the energy and creativity of Executive Chef, Glenn Bacon and his team in continuing to raise the benchmark in culinary excellence at this iconic Australian tourism destination.
“We know that our guests are looking for healthier dining options but that doesn’t mean we can’t tempt them with a little indulgence along the way,” Mr Green said.
“Even now, we have our 45-strong kitchen team in battle to create the best Hayman Salad, with the winning dish to be introduced throughout the resort.”
“And then there are life’s special dining pleasures to be experienced with guests eagerly trying our new Burger Cent Cinquente.”
This exotic burger, which is priced at $150, boasts such delicacies as a mouth-watering slice of wagyu beef topped with freshly shaved Manjimup truffles, Iberico jamon, foie gras, truffle-infused duck egg, triple cream Brillat–Savarin cheese and caramelised onions with a 24 carat gold leaf sprinkling, plus a side serving of triple-cooked chips, with home-made tomato sauce.
Special new dining experiences include one of Hayman’s signature events, The Chef’s Table, being taken out of the Main Kitchen into the pristine forest for an 8-course feast introduced by Chef Bacon or a Hayman Master Chef, with wines personally selected and presented by a Hayman Sommelier.
The new Hayman Grill, inspired by the great grills of Las Vegas, is quickly becoming a much anticipated dinner on Sunday nights with an array of tantalising dishes being presented by the Chefs.
In November 2010, another exciting addition to the Hayman culinary calendar will be a fabulous tequila and cigar bar complemented by a Central American lunch and tapas menu.
“Everything we do is inspired by our desire to offer rejuvenation and balance,” Mr Green said.
Meanwhile, in recognition of outstanding dining presentation and delivery, Hayman has been the big winner taking out the two Major Awards and other key accolades at the 2010 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence in Queensland, announced in Brisbane in September.
Hayman collected the big gongs as Corporate Caterer of the Year acknowledging the resort’s array of memorable dining experiences and Restaurant of the Year, which went to the magnificent La Fontaine, renowned for its superbly innovative modern European cuisine.
Hayman also picked up awards on the night in the categories of Best European Restaurant for La Fontaine, Best Tourism Restaurant for The Chef’s Table, Best Asian Restaurant for Oriental, Best Breakfast Restaurant for Azure, Best Corporate Caterer and Best Wedding Caterer.
