GQ Whiskey and Wine Weekend on Hayman
Hayman is proud to once again be joining prestigious Australian publication, GQ Australia, in hosting a fabulous GQ Weekend on Hayman featuring superb food, the finest Tennessee whiskey presented by Gentleman Jack and magnificent wines from Hentley Farm from 14 – 16 September 2012.
The twice-filtered Gentleman Jack is produced by the famous Jack Daniel’s distillery and is a huge hit worldwide. Gentleman Jack is described as ‘Rare Tennessee Whiskey’ and is the drink of preference for many celebrities.
Hentley Farm is a boutique, vineyard on the banks of Greenock Creek at Seppeltsfield in South Australia’s acclaimed Barossa Valley wine region. The vineyard specialises in award-winning quality single-estate and single-block wines.
The weekend will commence with a Sunset Cruise on Sun Goddess on Friday evening taking guests out into the Whitsunday waters surrounding Hayman and presenting Gentleman Jack whiskey cocktails and canapés as the sun sets over the Coral Sea. This cruise from 5.30pm – 7.00pm is priced at A$150 per person.
On Saturday, guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax resort style – swimming, snorkelling, playing tennis, catamaran sailing, golf driving, enjoying the spa, bushwalking, working out in the gym or simply lying by the pool.
In the afternoon, guests will be invited to participate in a Jack Daniel’s Master Class hosted by Gentleman Jack Brand Ambassador, Grant Shearon from 2.00pm – 3.00pm and learn about the subtle qualities that make this whiskey unique.
In the evening, the resort’s premier dining experience, The Chef’s Table will be hosted by GQ Australia priced at A$295 per person featuring a magnificent 6-course degustation menu showcasing a selection of specially chosen Hentley Farm wines, presented by Brand Ambassador, Leigh Underwood, to accompany each course and Gentleman Jack inspired dessert paired with a glass of this fine whiskey introduced by Grant Shearon. This exclusive event is priced at A$295 per person.
Guests can also purchase a Hayman 2-night package priced from A$1420 per person twin share including 2 nights’ accommodation, return transfers between Great Barrier Reef Airport and Hayman, daily buffet breakfast, the sunset cruise, The Chef’s Table and Master Classes.

Fitness and Leisure on Hayman
Hayman, Australia’s celebrated private island destination in the Great Barrier Reef offers everything anyone can want when it comes to getting fit and having fun at the same time.

Philip Johnson to Host Platinum Series Dinner on Hayman
Hayman has invited renowned Chef, Philip Johnson to host a Platinum Series Dinner on Saturday, 21 July 2012 at the acclaimed Great Barrier Reef private island destination.
This dinner, which is being held in Fontaine, Australia’s signature resort restaurant, forms a major part of Hayman’s commitment to presenting unique dining experiences to guests, by aligning with celebrated chefs and winemakers for these exclusive events.
Priced at $195 per person, this special culinary event will feature a tantalising 4-course menu showcasing the flare and unique style for which Philip is synonymous in Australia and internationally and beautiful wines from Craggy Range Winery in New Zealand.
Philip Johnson has become one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, honing his skills in Australia, London and New Zealand before settling in Brisbane. Philip opened his landmark bistro, e’cco, in 1995 and very quickly made a name for himself with his win of the 1997 Remy Martin Cognac/Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year award. He has also authored six cookbooks.
Accompanying this beautiful meal will be a superb selection of wines from Craggy Range Winery, which has achieved worldwide recognition for its outstanding releases. These magnificent wines will be introduced by Craggy Range Chairman, Terry Peabody and Director, Mary-Jeanne Hutchinson. Hayman enjoys a long-standing relationship with this winery, which specialises in single vineyard wine and is known for uncompromising standards and meticulous craftsmanship.
