Hayman Again Named Best Australian Resort

Hayman, Australia’s celebrated private island destination in the Great Barrier Reef, has been named Best Australian Resort for the fifth consecutive year in Luxury Travel Magazine’s glittering Gold List for 2010.
The Gold List has again been voted on by readers and subscribers of Luxury Travel Magazine together with clients of Virtuoso – the exclusive collection of travel agents, and guests of Preferred Hotel Group members, all of whom were asked to nominate their favourite luxury travel experiences across a number of categories.
The Autumn edition of Luxury Travel, which features the Gold List, carries the following acknowledgement of Hayman’s win – “The Whitsundays’ finest can be seen amongst our Best Australian Resort nominees, with Hayman taking out top honours once again”.
This is the fourth major consumer accolade in 2010 for Hayman, having been named Best Resort Accommodation in Australia in The Australian Travel & Tourism Awards in which readers of The Weekend Australian's Travel and Indulgence supplement were asked to vote in specific categories from short lists compiled by The Australian's Travel Editor, Susan Kurosawa and a panel of expert judges.
Also in 2010 Hayman has been included in US Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels’ Top 5 Hotels Australia & South Pacific whilst Spa Hayman is featured in UK Conde Nast Traveller’s Top Spas Australasia & South Pacific.
