Cocktails and Cuptails
August 7, 2011
Hayman is reknowned for its unique culinary experiences. The latest on this long list, is the new ‘cuptail’ offering, served at the Hayman Pool Bar.
This exciting twist on the traditional cupcake was the brainchild of Chef Anthony Healy.
“Chef Healy created a range of cocktail-inspired cupcakes including a Margarita, Cosmopolitan, and Japanese Slipper,” says Hayman Pool Bartender Matt.
These sweet treats taste even better than they look and really taste like the cocktails they are named after. The Cosmopolitan is a favourite; a red velvet cupcake with a deliciously creamy, Cointreau center and an air-dried vodka cranberry frosting.
Bartender Matt claims cuptails are best served with one of Hayman’s signature cocktails and it’s not long before he reappears carrying a coconut garnished with fresh pineapple.
“It’s a Hayman Colada,” he says placing it on the table, “we put a twist on the Pina Colada by adding some of the fresh coconut water and a little butterscotch schnapps”.
It is delicious!
“Don’t forget to eat the coconut flesh when you’ve finished,” he says pointing to the spoon neatly tucked into the flesh of the coconut”.
There is nothing nicer than sitting at the Hayman Pool Bar sipping on cocktails and munching on cuptails!
