HOW DO I APPLY?

Hayman vacancies are advertised on our website (please see Career Opportunities) or in other media such as seek.com.au and mycareer.com.au. If you are experiencing any problems in applying, please contact the Hayman Human Resources Department on (61-7) 4940 1684.

WHERE ARE INTERVIEWS HELD?

Hayman conducts the majority of interviews over the telephone. If a Hayman representative is in your area, this will be advertised on the Hayman website and in local media.

DO YOU OFFER SHORT-TERM CONTRACTS?

The majority of employees at Hayman are offered permanent positions and we are looking for people who wish to commit to Hayman for a minimum of 1 year. We also have busy periods throughout the year and at this time we offer short-term contracts. Our busy periods are usually over Easter, end of August and from December to January.

CAN I APPLY WITH A FRIEND OR PARTNER?

Yes. We have many people on Hayman who have come to the island with a partner or a friend. You are both required to apply for a position with Hayman and follow the standard recruitment process.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF LIVING ON HAYMAN?

Hayman is an extremely affordable living option that provides fully furnished twin share accommodation and 3 meals per day in the Staff Diner at a heavily discounted cost. Our current weekly costs are $A47.75 per person in twin share accommodation and $A94.30 for 3 meals per day in the Staff Diner. These charges are directly debited from your wages each fortnight.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WORK ON HAYMAN?

HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE ON THE ISLAND?

We have anywhere between 450 to 550 employees living on the island.

CAN I CHOOSE WITH WHOM I SHARE A ROOM?

If your position requires you to share a room we do our best to ensure that you are matched up with someone of the same gender, similar age and smoking preferences. If you are travelling with a friend we do our best to ensure that you are roomed together however this is not always possible during our peak periods.

IF I AM SUCCESSFUL, WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY FIRST PAY?

Hayman employees are paid fortnightly. If you are successful in gaining a position with us you should ensure that you have enough money to suffice for the first 2-3 weeks.

WHAT ARE THE WAGES FOR THESE POSITIONS?

Wages are discussed during the recruitment process.

WILL HAYMAN PROVIDE ME WITH MY UNIFORM?

Hayman provides uniforms to employees. These uniforms are laundered free of charge for employees daily. Most employees will be required to supply their own shoes which will be discussed during the recruitment process.
