Hayman is home to thousands of butterfly-attracting plants creating an ideal environment for butterflies. Hayman’s Landscape Manager, Doug Van Wyk Smith, says the island’s nature trails are the perfect way to get up close and personal with these colourful creatures.

A New Botanical Garden

In February 2011, Cyclones Yasi and Anthony swept through leaving a trail of devastation. Hayman’s gardens were hardest hit, however after a few months of replanting, the gardens are looking more beautiful than ever.
