Looking to improve your game? We are proud to announce our new Tennis Escape. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, the Hayman Tennis Escape is for everyone.
Set amid lush tropical gardens with views of the surrounding forested hills, Hayman Activities offers three all-weather artificial grass courts and one championship Plexicushion court – all lit for night play.
Don’t miss out on a chance to improve that back swing and serve up your best whilst enjoying a well deserved break on Hayman! Are you up for the challenge? We’ll see you at the courts!
Guests often comment that they love the adventure of getting to Hayman; as an island the only way to reach us is by helicopter or our luxury boat (unless you have your own, that is!). This has taught us that our guests embody an adventurous spirit akin to ours, and in response we are delighted to announce the launch of ‘Adventure Hayman’.
Adventure Hayman is a designated activities and tour desk where guests can gather to hear about all there is to see and do on Hayman. They will have face to face contact with our Adventure team who have all the knowledge and experience of the area to help guests make the right choice for their unique barrier reef holiday. Everything from our amazing reef experiences by boat and air to nature activities such as wallaby spotting and garden tours will be explained. Welcome drinks and introductions are conducted every afternoon from 5 – 6pm.
With Spring less than one month away, it won’t be long until Hayman’s eternal sunshine begins to spread to other parts of the country. And so, for the benefit of our guests who have been hiding in their winter woollens for the past couple of months we have created a month of fitness and leisure on the island.
3 Tips to Get the Most out of August on Hayman
1. Get moving
As we all know, the quickest way to produce endorphins and lift your mood is by activating your body.
During this month of action and activity, we invite guests to get moving with everything from yoga to fishing and island walks to squash. Our personal trainer is currently hosting complimentary group fitness classes and personal training sessions can also be booked. Offering only the best, we also have a tennis professional hosting tennis clinics or private sessions on one of our all-weather artificial grass courts and championship Plexicushion Court.
2. Get Healthy
Understanding that you only get out what you put in, Hayman Gourmet is available to tailor healthy meals to suit guests’ requirements. We want you feeling as good on the inside as you look on the outside, so talk to our culinary team about dining options that are nutritious as well as delicious.
3. Get Creative
Whilst humans are creatures of habit, implementing a change in your routine is a proven exercise in strengthening your creative muscle. With Hayman Gourmet it’s not just what’s on your plate that is tailored – guests can also choose where they enjoy their meals, as Hayman has private dining platforms scattered through the rainforest groves as well as on the Hayman beach front. We encourage everyone to enjoy a meal away from the tables and chairs – it may inspire creativity within you, which is an important aptitude for anyone from business managers to party planners.
Hayman’s luxury launch, Sun Eagle, departed for a leisurely cruise to Whitehaven Beach on New Year’s Day.
The cruise through the Whitsundays Passage was spectacular. The lush green islands set against the sparkling blue Coral Sea was a sight to behold.
Guests were served a range of scrumptious canapés, from sushi to smoked salman sandwiches.
The launch circled Whitsunday Island, where Whitehaven Beach is located, before letting guests explore the region’s largest island for themselves.
The seven kilometre beach is said to have the whitest sand in the world. The sand is 98% silica, which is what gives it the bright white colour.
It’s no wonder this beach has been voted one of the best in Australia. Everything about it is perfect. The sand seemed to stretch on forever and the turquoise water was wonderfully warm and clear.
The return journey was equally beautiful and Hayman looked spectacular with the sun setting behind the hills as the launch pulled into to shore. This has to be the perfect end to the first day of the year.
There aren’t many better ways to begin a day than with a boxing session on Hayman Beach.
Fitness Instructor Carrieann Marriott, who runs morning boxing sessions on Hayman, agrees, “Boxing on the beach is fantastic, you can take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes, and if you get too hot, we can even box in the water.”
A typical boxing session usually consists of a series of hooks, jabs, uppercuts and a variety of other exercises in between. However, Carrieann tailors classes to meet an individual’s needs.
“Boxing is a great work out for your whole body. It’s good for muscle toning, strength, fitness and agility. It’s even good for your balance, especially when you do it on the beach. The uneven surface provides even more of a challenge.”
It feels good to exercise and it’s even better doing it in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
“When I see someone feeling the pain, I just tell them to look out at the view,” Carrieann explains.
I’m not convinced a view of the idyllic Coral Sea will take away the pain of a grueling boxing session… but it can’t hurt!
