Live Coral & Tropical Fish

Introductory Dive Course

No previous experience is required to dive at the Great Barrier Reef.

Learn how to use your breathing apparatus, get used to feeling weightless, and prepare to meet reef fish in person. Once you have completed your medical self-assessment, a dive theory class on land covers everything you need to know. The next step is to blow some bubbles, practicing your dive skills in confined water.

When you are ready for your first scuba dive, an instructor will lead a dive at the magnificent Blue Pearl Bay. For approximately 40 minutes underwater, you are likely to see maori wrasse, clown fish, giant clams, nudibranchs, chevron barracuda, tusk fish, fusiliers, and an abundance of beautiful corals.

The Introductory Dive Course is available to ages 12 years and over.
